As for the storyline and characters, more information is being kept secret, but it won’t adopt the found-footage style of the original installment. The direct sequel is being produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, and Jon Cohen.

Back in 2008, I found myself immersed in a gripping movie directed by Reeves, based on a screenplay penned by Drew Goddard. The story unfolded around a band of youthful New York citizens who were thrust into a survival situation when an enormous monster emerged out of nowhere and wreaked havoc alongside smaller creatures.
