Closer Look at the Galleries Exhibited During Art Basel Hong Kong 2025

I’m right in the heart of the Art Basel excitement here in Hong Kong! It feels incredible to be part of this global gathering where art enthusiasts unite to marvel at some of the world’s most coveted masterpieces. Reputable galleries like Hauser & Wirth, David Zwirner, Gagosian, Almine Rech, Nanzuka, and Pearl Lam have graced us with their extraordinary collections for Art Basel Hong Kong.

The Louis Vuitton exhibit marked the commencement of Art Basel. They showcased a collection in partnership with Takashi Murakami for their second drop, featuring archival items such as an exclusive floral print rug and his sculptures. Additionally, they highlighted pieces from Kasing Lung’s Labubu phase, displaying several of his monster-themed paintings across international and local galleries. Almine Rech Gallery displayed three Picasso works, two of which were on paper.

In simpler terms, the crowd-pleasing artworks included Daniel Arsham’s crystallized Mewtwo, a beloved Yayoi Kusama pumpkin, Tom Sachs prints, and numerous others. Gallery 1957 is recognized for its commitment to showcasing artists from the African diaspora, such as Rita Mawuena Benissan, who blends history with textiles, alongside pieces by Gideon Appah, Amoako Boafo, Kelvin Haizel, Kaloki Nyamai, Otis Quaicoe, and Arthur Timothy. Meanwhile, NANZUKA showcases artists from around the world, including Kenny Scharf, FriendsWithYou, Javier Calleja, with a particular focus on Japanese artists like Hajime Sorayama, Keiichi Tanaami, Harumi Yamaguchi, Masato Mori, and Hiroki Tsukuda.
