As a dedicated DC fan who has been following the universe since the days of Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Movie, I am absolutely thrilled to hear about the release dates for Clayface and Dynamic Duo!
Clayface and Dynamic Duo have been given release dates from DC Studios.
The upcoming DC movie titled Clayface is being penned by Mike Flanagan and produced by Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris. Concurrently, Dynamic Duo is an animated film from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, directed by Arthur Mintz and written by Matthew Aldrich.
Warner Bros. has now announced official release dates for both movies.
What are the release dates for DC Studios’ Clayface and Dynamic Duo?
On September 11, 2026, Clayface is set to hit U.S. theaters. Approximately two years later, on June 30, 2028, the second movie, known as the Dynamic Duo, will be released. Interestingly, this second film will also screen in IMAX cinemas.
Earlier this week, according to the deadline, it was confirmed that DC Studios will soon be producing a Clayface film. As of now, the specifics about the plot are still being kept secret. However, it’s anticipated that production will start in early 2025.
In other words, James Gunn referred to Clayface as a “tale within the DC Universe’s continuity,” indicating that it will take place within the ongoing narrative of the shared DC universe initiated by Gunn and Peter Safran, which was recently launched with the animated Creature Commandos series.
Currently, there’s no official confirmation about who will portray Clayface in the upcoming film. However, it’s interesting to mention that Alan Tudyk lends his voice to the character in the Creature Commandos animated series. Previously, director James Gunn has mentioned that actors who voice significant characters in DC Universe animated projects may also appear as those characters in live-action, a trend we see with Frank Grillo, who voices Rick Flag Sr. in Creature Commandos and is set to appear in the 2025 live-action Superman film.
Furthermore, Gunn stated that Tudyk is set to portray a real-life character within the DC Universe. At first, it wasn’t evident which role he was referring to, as Tudyk also voices Doctor Phosphorus, Will Magnus, and Clayface in Creature Commandos.
At present, details about the storyline for the film “Dynamic Duo” remain scarce, but it has been confirmed that it will focus on the characters of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. In addition to Reeves and Harris, Theresa Andersson is also involved in producing this movie.
