As a die-hard fan of the Citadel universe, I must say that the latest addition to our beloved franchise, Citadel: Honey Bunny, has left me utterly thrilled! Being a child of the 90s myself, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I delve into this Indian spin-off. The fact that it serves as a prequel to the original series, and introduces us to the parents of our beloved Agent Nadia, played by Priyanka Chopra, is simply mind-blowing!
The intriguing series titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny” has sparked viewers’ curiosity. Produced by Raj & DK, this action-packed spy thriller follows a stuntman and an aspiring actress as they navigate the perilous landscape of spies and enigma. As the series has been released, fans are eager to learn more about its location within the Citadel universe and its connection to the original franchise. To clarify, where is “Citadel: Honey Bunny” situated, and what relationship does it hold with the initial series?
Here is everything you need to know about the series’ setting.
Where is Citadel: Honey Bunny set?
Citadel: Honey Bunny is set in India.
In the ’90s, I’m immersed in a captivating tale that follows the rollercoaster lives of two intriguing characters – Rahi Gambhir, also known as Bunny, and Honey, a budding actress. Bunny, a daring stuntman, finds himself enlisting the help of Honey for a perilous assignment. As their roles as agents intertwine, their paths cross more frequently, hinting at a passionate love story. However, danger looms ahead, and with lives hanging in the balance, their most precarious mission revolves around ensuring the safety of their innocent child, Nadia.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the movie “Citadel: Honey Bunny” boasts an impressive ensemble cast. In the lead roles, we have Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Kashvi Majmundar. Notably, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Simran Bagga, and others grace the screen as supporting characters. Can’t wait to see this fantastic lineup bring the story to life!
How is Citadel: Honey Bunny connected to the larger universe?
Citadel: Honey Bunny is a spin-off to the original American series, Citadel.
The show delves into happenings from 1990 preceding those depicted in the initial Citadel series based in America. Characters Honey and Bunny are revealed as the parents of Agent Nadia, portrayed by Priyanka Chopra in the original production. To put it simply, for those unaware, Chopra’s character Nadia referenced her father ‘Bunny’ in one episode to her on-screen daughter.
In a recent conversation with CBR, director Raj Nidimoru shared his excitement about becoming involved in the World of Citadel. He expressed, “[I’m] contributing to a global initiative – an unprecedented project where they’ve crafted a vast multiverse that spans various nations and unexpected agents will appear worldwide.
It’s been revealed that Citadel, with various offshoots taking place in different nations, is now in the spotlight. The Italian edition of Citadel: Diana made its debut on October 10, 2024, but it should be noted that it has no link to Citadel Honey Bunny or the initial series.
Citadel: Honey Bunny is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
