Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Will Film on Siciliy’s ‘Goat Island’

Christopher Nolan’s movie, titled “The Odyssey“, is expected to be a costly production. As per a recent report from Variety, part of this production will take place in Sicily, an island that mirrors the historical backdrop of the story upon which the film is based.

Based on Variety’s announcement, the upcoming film is expected to start shooting soon, with some scenes being shot on the Italian island of Favignana, a location that was once called Aegusa in ancient Greek times and is thought to mean “the goat island.

The island is notorious as the supposed setting where Homer imagined Odysseus’s crew arriving, according to The Odyssey. They stopped there to gather provisions, including goats, a commodity the island was famed for during that period.

According to Variety’s report, parts of the movie are set to be shot on Sicily’s Aeolian Islands, however, a significant amount of filming time in Sicily will take place on Favignana Island.

What else do we know about The Odyssey?

Earlier, it was disclosed that Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway are set to appear in an upcoming movie. Initial information indicates that these four actors will constitute the main characters or “the core leads” of the film. Lupita Nyong’o and Zendaya, who were recently rumored to be involved, will also take on supporting roles, as will Charlize Theron.
