Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming film, titled “The Odyssey,” is generating a great deal of excitement as it approaches release in the next two years, with Universal Pictures expressing significant acclaim for it.
What did Universal say about The Odyssey?
During this week’s CinemaCon, Universal showcased its upcoming film slate, and Jim Orr, Universal’s distribution chief, highly commended the production. As it stands, the movie is still being made. Orr described the film as a “visionary, one-of-a-kind cinematic masterpiece that Homer might even take pride in.
Additionally, Orr commended the “impressive ensemble” that Nolan has gathered for the film. Regrettably, at this moment, no sneak peeks of the movie have been shared publicly. The timeline for when we might see some footage remains uncertain as the film is still over a year away from its premiere.

For the first time ever, Homer’s timeless tale will grace IMAX screens, and it’s set to premiere in cinemas worldwide on July 17, 2026.

The Odyssey is one such timeless masterpiece.
The epic tale, The Odyssey, narrates the adventures of the legendary Greek hero, King Odysseus of Ithaca, as he makes his way home from the Trojan War. With Odysseus believed to be deceased, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus face challenges as they navigate a crowd of potential suitors eagerly courting Penelope during her husband’s prolonged absence.
In the 8th or 7th century BC, it’s believed that The Odyssey was penned, making it a cornerstone piece in the annals of literature.
