Chris Pratt is playfully hinting at a possible comeback of his character Star-Lord in either the upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Avengers: Secret Wars.
Chris Pratt portrayed Star-Lord/Peter Quill across several Marvel Studios productions, such as the Guardians of the Galaxy series, both Avengers films directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and the 2022 release, Thor: Love and Thunder.
Currently, the Russos are busy developing not one but two upcoming Avengers films, namely “Avengers: Doomsday” set for release in 2026 and “Avengers: Secret Wars” slated for 2027.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Chris Pratt, who features in The Electric State directed by the Russo Brothers on Netflix, was questioned about whether it’s likely that he’ll take up his Marvel character again in any of the forthcoming Avengers films due to his connection with Joe and Anthony.
What did Chris Pratt say about Star-Lord’s MCU return?
For fans familiar with the Marvel universe, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” marked the last appearance of Star-Lord so far. However, there was a commitment that Star-Lord would reappear. The best I can share is that we are committed to fulfilling that promise.
The movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to release on May 1st, 2026. As of now, the storyline is kept secret, but it’s confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will portray Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom in this film. Additionally, Anthony Mackie as Captain America and the primary cast of the Fantastic Four – Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach – are expected to make appearances, along with others. The sequel, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” follows on May 7th, 2027.
Meanwhile, the film “The Electric State” is set to premiere on Netflix on March 14, 2024. Alongside Chris Pratt, this movie features an impressive cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, and many others.
At the world premiere of The Electric State, Deadline inquired from Chris Pratt if Star-Lord might make a guest appearance in any future Avengers films. However, Pratt merely expressed that fans would undoubtedly be delighted if he were to appear in such a role.
