It appears that a significant spot from the movies Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder will likely not show up in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film titled Avengers: Doomsday. Filming for this new addition to the hit franchise is already happening, with a scheduled release date of December 18, 2026.
What MCU location won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday?
During an interview with Sunday Mail, Chris Hemsworth (who has worked extensively with Marvel) mentioned that there will be no filming of Avengers: Doomsday in Scotland. This suggests that New Asgard may not appear in Doomsday, since the scenes for this fictional village were shot at a real fishing village located in the Scottish Borders.
Chris Hemsworth expressed that shooting The Avengers in Scotland was truly remarkable. He shared that it seems unlikely the team will return for Doomsday, but he hopes to revisit and film more projects in the country. He finds the people exceptional, and admires the majestic beauty of the Highlands, expressing a desire to shoot another movie there someday, as he believes it would make an ideal setting for an iconic battle scene. The scenery is simply breathtaking, he added.
