Chris Evans talks about Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal
In the process of publicizing their romantic drama “Materialists”, Chris Evans admitted that collaborating with his co-stars Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal was delightful, yet he playfully expressed feelings of being left out occasionally, largely due to the strong bond they shared prior to the project.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Evans shared, “Dakota and Pedro are two people I deeply care for. Since they’ve been friends for a while, at times I felt like a tag-along, but they both soon made me feel comfortable.” He continued, “They embraced me warmly. We get along so well, it’s almost as if we were old friends. I believe we’re all really pleased with the movie, and it’s always great when everyone is happy about their work.
In the latest film by director Celine Song titled “Materialists,” Chris Evans, known for his role as Captain America, finds himself in a world without superhero gadgetry. Instead, he experiences raw emotions and romantic turmoil. He portrays John, a disillusioned former actor turned caterer who crosses paths with his ex, Lucy, played by Dakota Johnson, on the same evening she encounters Pedro Pascal’s character, Harry, who appears to be her ideal match.
In this unique love triangle, the drama isn’t loud or obvious as typically portrayed. Instead, the tension is expressed subtly. As for Evans and Pascal, they offer different things in distinct ways. There’s a significant difference in their social standings… Yet, Celine encapsulates it all in a simple handshake, in a single greeting.
Despite having few shared scenes, Evans and Pascal compensated for this off-camera. This was reflected in their strong camaraderie that developed during filming, as they often spoke about.
To see this dynamic play out, fans can go see Materialists, which is currently playing in theaters.
