As someone who has been through my fair share of heartbreak and betrayal, I must say that the drama between Chelsea Lazkani and Bre Tiesi this season on Selling Sunset is nothing short of captivating. It’s like watching a trainwreck in slow motion, where you know it’s going to be messy but can’t look away.
This season on Selling Sunset, tensions are running high! As you might guess, the primary drama revolves around two real estate agents from the O Group who have had a tumultuous friendship since their initial encounter. To clarify, we’re referring to Chelsea Lazkani and Bre Tiesi.
As things appeared to be developing into some semblance of a friendship, everything takes a turn for the worse when news of a betrayal surfaces. Trust is shattered, and any prospect of friendship that might have blossomed between them fades away.
In this summary, we’ll take a look at the series of events unfolding between Chelsea and Bre during season 8 of Selling Sunset.
Spoilers ahead from Selling Sunset season 8!
What happened between Chelsea Lazkani and Bre Tiesi in Selling Sunset season 8?
The story starts unfolding as Bre gets a call from Amanda Lynn, a colleague in real estate. They arrange to meet up because Amanda has some gossip about Chelsea’s husband, Jeff. At the restaurant, Amanda shows Bre text messages she got from a confidant, who claims they saw Jeff kissing another woman at the W Hotel.
As a gamer, I can’t shake off the feeling of empathy towards Chelsea, even though our friendship isn’t exactly smooth after seasons 6 and 7. Her past with Johnny Manziel, where she was cheated on, has left its mark on her. It’s hard not to feel for someone who’s been through that.
In a few episodes, Bre ponders if she should disclose to Chelsea the details she found out about Chelsea’s husband. Eventually, they meet up for drinks, and after much thought, Bre reveals to Chelsea what Amanda had shared with her. Upon hearing the accusations of infidelity, Chelsea becomes emotional and Bre tries to comfort her. However, their heartfelt conversation doesn’t last as the tension resurfaces quickly between them.
In an upcoming episode, Chelsea, Emma, and Chrishell have a cozy gathering at Chrishell’s home, where they delve into the topic of Bre revealing her husband’s infidelity to Chelsea. During their conversation about Bre and Chelsea’s past encounter, Emma and Chrishell express doubts about Bre’s genuine intentions for disclosing this information to Chelsea, with Emma being particularly skeptical. Upon careful consideration, Emma feels that Bre didn’t inform Chelsea out of altruism. Instead, she thinks that if Bre were truly a good person, she would have discreetly shared the news away from the cameras, which she did not do.
There’s an argument about whether Bre arranged a meeting with Amanda under camera surveillance to embarrass Chelsea, but Bre denies it firmly. This dispute escalates at Mary and Jason’s pet’s funeral, where Bre and Emma choose to end their friendship, leaving Chrishell uncertain about her relationship with both of them. At this stage, however, Chelsea and Bre no longer want to maintain a friendship.
In light of her perceived betrayal from those she considered friends and Chelsea portraying her as a villain, Bre comes up with a strategy to stir things up at the Oppenheim Group by recruiting Amanda. By the end of Selling Sunset season 8, it’s unclear whether Amanda gets hired at the O Group, but if she does, there’s no doubt it will cause some tension.
Following several scenes featuring Amanda this season, she appears to be far from a virtuous individual. She enjoys causing drama, and frankly, we’re tired of dealing with such situations, which have been prevalent in previous seasons. Given that Bre is friends with her, it raises concerns about Bre’s character too. It does leave one pondering if Emma was correct about Amanda.
