Chelsea Handler Recalls Meeting President George W. Bush: ‘I Was on Four Edibles’

Comedian Chelsea Handler shares anecdotes about her unexpected and amusing initial encounter with ex-President George W. Bush. Known for her offbeat humor, Handler confides that the story behind their meeting was too risqué for television broadcasts. In a recent interview on Friday, she admitted to consuming some edibles prior to their meeting in an attempt to behave impeccably.

Chelsea Handler talks about meeting President George W. Bush

In her Netflix show titled “The Feeling,” Chelsea Handler discusses the reason she consumed four edibles prior to meeting George W. Bush. At the age of 50, this renowned comedian was quite close friends with the former president’s daughters, Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager. In the special, she excitedly recounts that the girls invited her to enjoy a game of pickleball at their residence in Kennebunkport, Maine with the Bushes.

In the special, Handler openly discussed her immediate feelings, stating that she informed her friends she feels “unreliable” around the ex-president. “I have sudden outbursts,” she admitted. “And just like everyone else, I’m taken aback when they occur. She has a unique bond with certain substances, and she is well-aware of both their specifics and the right moments to use them. In one particular situation, she felt it would be more advantageous if her character were less prominent.

Lately, she confided in Yahoo Entertainment that the president was aware of her “high” period. She stated emphatically, “I had consumed four edibles, and I informed him about it! Absolutely, I didn’t exaggerate that part.

At first, Handler thought she wouldn’t get a chance to meet the ex-president. But then, to her astonishment, George W. Bush approached her on the pickleball court for a chat.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share that the comedian mentioned that the former president’s family was fine with the story becoming public knowledge, as they attended her show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City before it was filmed. She explained, “If they had any objections, that was their chance to voice them, but they adored it.
