As a longtime WWE fan who has followed Charlotte Flair’s career since her NXT days, it’s been a tough pill to swallow knowing that she won’t be back in action this year due to her severe knee injury. I remember the excitement and anticipation I felt every time she stepped into the ring, and it’s a bummer that we have to wait even longer for her return.
Unfortunately, there’s been some troubling news about the comeback of Charlotte Flair, the ex-WWE Women’s Champion. In late December 2023, on an episode of SmackDown, Flair battled Asuka in a crucial match. Bayley’s intervention disrupted the flow and ultimately resulted in Asuka emerging victorious. However, during this intense fight, Flair suffered a serious knee injury.
After thorough examinations, it emerged that Charlotte Flair had suffered tears in her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. The WWE disclosed that she needed immediate surgery right away. Given the severity of the injuries and the lengthy recovery period, it was estimated that Flair would be sidelined for around nine months.
Currently, fans are eagerly awaiting Charlotte Flair’s comeback to WWE shows as she’s been out for more than nine months. Lately, she’s been seen frequently around the backstage area of WWE. A significant development about her WWE return has surfaced recently.

Charlotte Flair’s return to the ring still uncertain
According to Fightful Select’s latest report, Charlotte Flair’s anticipated comeback has taken an unfortunate turn. The information suggests that the WWE does not currently anticipate Flair returning in 2023 due to the gravity of her injuries. Initially, there were doubts about a return in 2024, but as of February, her recovery was progressing faster than expected. However, at this point, it’s still unclear when exactly she might be back.
As a gamer, I’m always eagerly waiting for updates about my favorite wrestler, Charlotte. Fightful Select is hinting that some intriguing plotlines are being tossed around for when she makes her comeback. Rumor has it, she might tangle with Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton, given Jax’s current title reign on SmackDown. But remember, all these plans remain just speculation until Charlotte gets the green light from the doctors to get back into the ring.
Unfortunately, Charlotte Flair hasn’t been given medical clearance yet because of the seriousness of her injury. Therefore, there are no current plans for her character in WWE until she receives medical approval. Here’s to a speedy recovery, Charlotte!
