Charli XCX to Star in and Produce Takashi Miike’s Next Film

Charli XCX is venturing into the realm of cinema as she prepares for a role in and production of an upcoming film by renowned Japanese director, Takashi Miike, known for his work on “Audition.

Miike is renowned for his abundant and gruesome horror films. While the specifics about the upcoming project are still secretive, Miike’s history of extreme violence in his iconic masterpieces like the 1999 hit Audition and 2001’s Ichi the Killer is anticipated to reappear in this new venture. The script for this project will be penned by Ross Evans. On the other hand, Charli, a multiple Grammy-winning artist, has been delving into acting and production lately. Charli is scheduled to appear in The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri, and star in Julia Jackman’s period fantasy 100 Nights of Hero alongside Nicholas Galitzine and Emma Corrin. Charli remains active, set to appear in Pete Ohs and Jeremy O. Harris’ Erupcja, Daniel Goldhaber’s horror remake Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex alongside Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, Romain Gavras’ adventure comedy Sacrifice, the thriller The Gallerist starring Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega, and several other projects.

Throughout his lengthy career, Miike has helmed over a hundred films and garnered significant acclaim for movies like the 1999 yakuza action film “Dead or Alive” and the 2001 erotic black comedy “Visitor Q”. His newest production, titled “Sham”, is slated to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. As of now, details about the upcoming project with Charli remain undisclosed.
