Channing Tatum Praying for MCU Gambit Movie After Deadpool & Wolverine

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for superhero lore, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement and nostalgia upon hearing Channing Tatum‘s renewed efforts to bring Gambit to life on the big screen. Having grown up watching the X-Men comics unfold in both print and silver screen adaptations, Gambit has always been one of those characters who stood out with his charm, charisma, and unique abilities.

Channing Tatum expresses optimism that the movie based on the character Gambit, for which he has long aspired, might become a reality following his portrayal of the X-Men figure in both Deadpool and Wolverine.

For approximately nine years, Tatum and his producing partner, Reid Carolin, have been working on an individual Gambit film for 20th Century Fox. Regrettably, it seemed this project might be over when Disney combined with Fox in 2019.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement now that Channing Tatum has the opportunity to showcase his Cajun charm and card skills on the big screen. And guess what? He’s just as eager as me to bring back that dream! When Variety asked him about it at the premiere of his new movie, Blink Twice, he replied with a heartfelt hope, “I sure do hope so. May my wish find its way to the heavens. Let’s make it happen together!”

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but echo the sentiments I’ve expressed countless times over the past decade: “Indeed, I’ve made it clear, time and again, that I yearn for this role. And now, just as I have in the past, I express my desire once more.” The fate of this dream rests in the hands of Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. May the powers that be grant my wish.

Channing Tatum grateful for Deadpool & Wolverine opportunity

It’s evident that Tatum holds the character in high regard, and he commended Ryan Reynolds for assisting him in landing the role of Gambit in Deadpool and Wolverine.

In a social media post, he expressed, “There aren’t many in this business who have stood by my side like @VancityReynolds. I thought Gambit was gone for good. But he fought for me and Gambit. I’ll likely be indebted to him forever. It’s hard to imagine doing something that could match the importance of this to me. You’re a pal, buddy.”

Gambit has faced some misfortune when it comes to portrayals on the big screen, as his character was mostly absent in the X-Men film series. However, he did make an appearance in the Wolverine and Deadpool movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine from 2009. In this film, Taylor Kitsch, known for roles in John Tucker Must Die and John Carter, played Gambit.

In the fresh phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introducing the X-Men, there’s still a chance for Channing Tatum to reprise his role as Gambit, although it may not be in a solo film.
