CD Projekt RED is planning more TV series after Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ success

The animated series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” significantly contributed to the revival of interest in “Cyberpunk 2077,” drawing players back to appreciate the advancements made by CD Projekt RED following a rocky debut. It seems that this positive response has encouraged CD Projekt not to avoid creating more companion shows based on their games. During a recent financial conference call, the developers and publishers of “Cyberpunk” hinted they were exploring additional opportunities for television series and animated projects.

During a Q&A session during an H1 2024 conference call with investors and analysts, CD Projekt RED’s co-CEO, Michal Nowakowski, shared that the company has plans for more animated content, but at this time, they are not planning a Season 2 for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. However, he didn’t entirely rule out potential new animation projects in the future.

This alignment is also in line with the sentiments at CD Projekt RED, particularly those involved in bringing Cyberpunk to Netflix, like Edgerunners producer Saya Elder.
