As a die-hard fan of Ravi Teja and Amitabh Bachchan, I find myself both intrigued and slightly disheartened by the recent developments surrounding the film Mr. Bachchan. Having grown up watching the magical chemistry between Big B and Rekha on the silver screen, it’s a bit sad to see their iconic image replaced in the promotional materials. However, as a seasoned moviegoer who has witnessed many a twist and turn in the world of cinema, I understand the need for compliance with the censor board’s guidelines.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has recently made some modifications to the upcoming Telugu movie Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja. One notable change is the removal of a poster displaying the legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, originally used in the film’s promotional materials. In its place, the board has asked for a new poster that features Amitabg Bachchan with his wife, Jaya Bachchan.
Based on an article by Bollywood Hungama, the censor board requested several changes to the film. They wanted an addition of a disclaimer stating that the movie is fictional and has no connection to any real individuals or locations. The producers were also instructed to either delete or replace specific offensive words, while a one-second scene with blood was entirely removed. Furthermore, a two-minute segment showing a child smoking was amended; instead of a beedi (a type of tobacco roll), they used a pencil in the scene.
In my role as a devoted follower, I’d like to share this: Originally, the opening title sequence of the film displayed a poster with Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. However, it was subsequently changed to one featuring Jaya Bachchan alongside Big B. Following these alterations, the film received a U/A certificate from the CBFC on Tuesday.
The upcoming movie titled Mr. Bachchan by Ravi Teja has sparked great anticipation among both fans and critics. This film is helmed by Harish Shankar and serves as an official adaptation of the 2018 Hindi blockbuster, Raid, starring Ajay Devgn. Unlike its original, which was a somber and realistic drama, Mr. Bachchan brings a delightful new perspective to the story.
Among the notable aspects of the movie is the entrance of Bhagyashri Borse, marking her first appearance in Telugu cinema. The romantic spark between her and Ravi Teja brings an element of romance to an otherwise dramatic narrative.
On August 15, Mr. Bachchan will find competition at the box office with several movies releasing simultaneously. These include Double Ismart, Thangalaan, Raghu Thatha, Demonte Colony 2, Stree 2, and a few others.
