Initially, Shacknews played LUCID during PAX East 2024. This unique title earned its name as a “Celestoidvania,” demonstrating Celeste’s significant influence in the independent gaming sector. The game shares similarities with Maddy Thorson’s classic not only in its visual aesthetics but also in its platforming mechanics. However, categorizing it merely as a blend of Celeste, Super Metroid, and Castlevania would be misleading. LUCID is impacted by various other classics, like the Mega Man and Ninja Gaiden series, in how it designs combat, platforming, and challenge.

Tekken 8 Season 2 Character Pass updated to show new & returning characters

In a recent Tekken Talk livestream, details about the Season 2 Character Pass for Tekken 8 were unveiled by EVO Business Development lead Mark Julio. During this broadcast, we learned more about the release schedule for the Season 2 Character Pass. The summer and autumn of 2025 will feature returning characters from the series, potentially including Bob, Armor King, Marduk, Lucky Chloe, Fahkumram, or Julia Chang, among others. A new character, yet to be seen in the franchise, is expected in winter 2025. Lastly, stages are set for release in both summer and winter, with a stage launching in summer to coincide with Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary.
