Commandos: Origins review: Courageous, dutiful, glorious basterds

In the 1940s, during the ascension of the Nazi regime, we find the game titled “Commandos: Origins.” This prequel takes us back to the early days of the commando squad, revealing their origins (a play on words). Initially, this team wasn’t the tight-knit group that fans of the original series were fond of; instead, they were a diverse assembly, personally chosen by Thomas Hancock (the Sapper), to execute perilous and top-secret missions.

Berserker: Khazan Easy Mode – Worth It?

In the game “The First Berserker: Khazan“, numerous bosses present a tough challenge. The so-called “Normal Mode” offers one of the toughest gaming experiences I’ve encountered in a soulslike game. Yet, with persistent practice against each new boss, I eventually adjusted to the difficulty level, despite occasional thoughts of opting for Easy Mode due to frustration. Fortunately, I persisted and didn’t make that switch – even Easy Mode proves to be incredibly difficult. Moreover, choosing Easy Mode means missing out on the game’s “true ending”, which is a substantial disadvantage.

Grit and Valor – 1949 review: Roguelike rut

Title Revision: An Imagined World War II Scenario – 1949 is an alternate history of World War II, in a universe where the Soviet Union failed to capture Berlin and Nazi forces conquered the United Kingdom. People were forced into underground work facilities, while a small resistance, equipped with powerful mechs, is defying the oppressors. Employing terms like “labor camps” and “World War II” casually in this context appears thoughtless. It doesn’t require a historian to recognize the similarities between these words and actual Nazi concentration camps, and it’s surprising that no one seems to have considered whether they are appropriate themes for a game about robots.

Razer halts direct sales & pre-orders of new laptops & accessories amid US tariffs

This week, I noticed a shift on several Razer product pages, such as the one for the Razer Blade 16 laptop, reported by The Verge. It appears that configuration and pre-order options have been replaced with a ‘Notify Me’ button, even on the page for their new Adjustable Laptop Stand. When reached out to for comment, Razer remained tight-lipped, stating they would update fans and customers when more information becomes available. Interestingly, the Internet Archive indicates that configuration and pre-orders were still an option as late as April 1, just before the Trump administration announced new tariffs.
