Captain America’s Chris Evans on Feeling Sad About Avengers: Doomsday

Chris Evans can’t wait to watch “Avengers: Doomsday”; yet, he’s not thrilled about possibly skipping the upcoming promotional tours for the film.

Evans is renowned for portraying Steve Rogers/Captain America within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His character initially appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger, released in 2011, and later starred in several interconnected movies prior to his last appearance in Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Currently, Evans is featured in Celine Song’s film titled “Materialists,” alongside Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal. Notably, Pascal portrays Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The premiere of Materialists in U.S. cinemas is scheduled for June 13, 2025, by A24.

What did Chris Evans say about Avengers: Doomsday?

According to ScreenRant’s interview, Evans mentioned that he isn’t currently involved in any filming for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, but he frequently chats with the Russo Brothers and Robert Downey Jr. on a regular basis.

Evans expressed that it’s disappointing to be apart, ‘I miss being with the band.’ But, I’m confident they’re creating something extraordinary, and when they release it, I might feel like I wasn’t included in the amazing event.

At present, there’s speculation about Evans potentially reprising his role in Avengers: Endgame, either as Captain America or another character altogether. However, these speculations haven’t been verified yet.

Details about the storyline for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday,” set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, are being kept confidential at present. Interestingly, this movie will be followed by its sequel, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which is slated for release a year later on December 17, 2027.

Besides being a Materialist, Evans will soon share the screen with Margaret Qualley in Ethan Coen’s “Honey Don’t!” This film was previously showcased at Cannes this year and is set to hit theaters on August 22, 2025, distributed by Focus Features.
