Captain America: Brave New World’s Budget Is Lower Than Deadpool & Wolverine’s

As a die-hard gamer of Marvel movies, I’ve just got wind that the budget for Captain America: Brave New World has been unveiled. Though it’s on par with what we’re used to from the MCU in terms of grandeur, it’s significantly lower than the initial speculations had hinted at.

As the launch date for Captain America 4 nears, there’s a growing buzz about its potential box office earnings during the opening weekend, sparking curiosity among fans regarding the budget of this upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster.

Captain America: Brave New World spent $180 million on filming budget

Based on a THR report, the estimated budget for Captain America: Brave New World is about $180 million. This is significantly less than the earlier estimate by World of Reel, which suggested the film’s cost could reach $275 million, with an additional $100 million spent on reshoots.

According to Jordan Ruimy from World of Reel, it’s been estimated that the budget for Brave New World is approximately $350 million, which includes costs associated with reshoots. This has left some fans questioning if the film will be able to recoup its production expenses during its time in cinemas. Ruimy cautions, “This could potentially lead to a major setback for Disney.

On a positive note, THR has provided more clarity on the budget for Captain America 4. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that the movie could earn between $90 million and $95 million during its opening weekend. This is similar to the earnings of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in its debut, though it falls short of the impressive $179 million earned by Civil War.

In Anthony Mackie’s first solo film titled “Captain America: Brave New World,” he takes up the mantle left by Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), following the events of Avengers: Endgame. Regarding his promotion from Falcon to Captain America, Mackie explained to Deadline in November 2024 that Sam Wilson’s transformation is straightforward – he remains a counselor and continues to help soldiers; however, now he leads his community within the nation.
