The Thursday box office numbers for Captain America: Brave New World are looking strong.
Currently showing in U.S. cinemas is Captain America 4, or Captain America: Brave New World, where Anthony Mackie once again takes on the role of Sam Wilson/Captain America, and Harrison Ford steps into the character Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross/Red Hulk, portrayed by Marvel Studios.
By the set deadline, Captain America: Brave New World garnered around 12 million dollars in ticket sales on a typical weekday.
Compared to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which made $10.2 million on its opening night on a Thursday back in 2014 and eventually grossed $95 million for the entire week, the latest release, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, had a stronger Thursday debut of $17.5 million when it premiered on Presidents’ Day weekend in 2023. However, its total four-day earnings were higher, at $120.3 million.

The First Avenger earned $4 million from midnight showings back in 2011, and a total of $65.1 million across its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Captain America: Civil War brought in $25 million on the Thursday prior to its release and eventually grossed a whopping $179.1 million during its opening weekend.
