As a seasoned Guardian who’s spent countless hours exploring the cosmos in Destiny 2, I’ve encountered my fair share of quirky mechanics. One such oddity that’s left me scratching my helmet is the enigmatic “Consumables Full” error message when trying to pick up Strange Coins.
In Destiny 2, many tasks yield Strange Coins, but occasionally, you won’t be able to grab them due to the “Consumables Full” message on your screen. This happens even when you have fewer than the maximum number of Strange Coins and there is still space for more in your inventory. The coins will simply remain as a small pyramid-shaped object on the ground.
Can’t pick up Strange Coins
In games with Strange Coins, you can only stack up to 99 coins at a time. If you get more than 99 in one instance, such as receiving four additional coins from a Strike, you are unable to collect them and instead they’ll be sent to the Postmaster automatically.
Here are a few options to resolve this problem:
You can buy an Unusual Gift for one Unusual Token. This is located under the section of Repeatable Unusual Offers, accessible via the tile labeled ‘More Unusual Offers’ from Xur. Lower the number of Unusual Tokens required to a level where accumulating four won’t be too challenging.
The other way to work around this pesky problem is to play an activity where the currency is deposited directly into your Inventory instead of dropping on the ground. Some Reddit users have pointed out that Nightfalls will do this (however, Nightfalls tend to be a lengthier process).
It’s certainly annoying that you cannot pick up Strange Coins off the ground even though you technically have room in your Inventory. Just make sure your stack of coins is 95, that way if four drop from a Strike you can pick them up and then go make your purchases.
