What is Indian (1996) about?
The movie opens with a string of murders in Avadi, all committed in the same brutal fashion: the victims are first stabbed with a knife and then left paralyzed before succumbing to their wounds. CBI investigator Krishnaswamy discerns that the perpetrator must be older than 70 based on the writing left at the crime scenes. Later, Krishnaswamy himself falls victim to an elderly assassin. The true identity of the killer is eventually unmasked as Senapathi, a former freedom fighter. He had been goaded into action by the threats of extortion leveled against a destitute woman by Krishnaswamy.
