In the casting news for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, it’s Callina Liang who will portray the iconic character, Chun-Li. Most recently seen in Steven Soderbergh’s production Presence, Liang is set to bring Chun-Li to life on the big screen.
According to a recent Deadline report, Callina Liang is set to play the role of Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Known for her significant impact on the gaming world, Chun-Li has been a popular character within Capcom’s Street Fighter series since she first appeared in Street Fighter 2.
Liang becomes part of the Street Fighter ensemble along with stars such as Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Roman Reigns.
In a turn of events, it’s now Kitao Sakurai who will take charge as director for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, with Danny and Michael Philippou stepping down from the project. As of now, the film is slated for release in theaters in 2026.
