Call of Duty Squid Game crossover will add special game modes for multiplayer and zombies

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that I find myself both excited and slightly skeptical about the upcoming crossover between Call of Duty and Squid Game. On one hand, I’m thrilled at the prospect of experiencing a new limited-time mode based on such a popular show. The idea of playing games within games has always intrigued me, and the Squid Game’s unique mechanics could potentially breathe fresh air into the Call of Duty multiplayer experience.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to see that the Call of Duty franchise is teaming up with a variety of popular gaming, TV, and movie franchises. The recent fusion of Black Ops 6 with the sensational Netflix series Squid Game has sent a wave of excitement through both Squid Game enthusiasts and fans of Activision’s shooter series.

As Season 1 Reloaded approaches, Activision has shared some initial information about the upcoming crossover event. When the go-ahead signal is given, players can look forward to a variety of temporary game modes being introduced across Call of Duty’s multiplayer, zombies, and battle royale options.

Squid Game modes are coming to CoD

In a blog post revealing more about the mid-season update, Activision has announced that limited-time gaming modes will be introduced across all Call of Duty realms. Furthermore, these modes will be inspired by a morally debatable game show and offer players an opportunity to obtain character skins based on mysterious pink-hooded figures who run the games.

Exciting News! I can’t wait to dive into the unique blend of Call of Duty and Squid Game! For a limited time, expect special game modes popping up in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone during this season. Stay tuned for more details! #SquidGame2

As I’m poring over the latest game screenshot, I can’t help but notice the character wielding an intriguing, dark pink and black weapon design. This bad boy is rumored to be included in the upcoming store pack too!

Some enthusiastic gamers are eagerly anticipating the release of the new bundle and temporary game modes in Call of Duty, while others remain skeptical about the recent collaboration. “The skins are disappointing,” laments a disillusioned player.

A sign of things to come?

The Squid Game crossover is a huge one for the start of a Call of Duty cycle. Considering the franchise has already teamed up with the likes of Fallout, Saw, and Scream, there aren’t many that haven’t featured on the virtual battlefield.

The big crossover everyone is focused on is the rumoured Halo collab which is expected to bring Master Chief to Call of Duty in a generational move bringing two of the biggest arena shooters together for the very first time. Until then, Squid Game aims to bring plenty of unique games to play.
