Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on Game Pass this week

As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I’m beyond excited to see Modern Warfare 3 joining Game Pass when Season 5 drops later this week. This game has been a staple in my gaming library since its release, and being able to jump back into it without any additional cost is a huge win for me.

Starting this week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to begin Season 5 in its main game and Warzone mode. Notably, this popular title will soon be accessible to Game Pass subscribers. According to recent announcements from Activision Blizzard and Xbox, the addition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to the subscription service is scheduled to occur around the same time as the new season goes live. Consequently, Game Pass members will have the opportunity to join in at no extra cost as the game enters its latest phase of content development.

Activision Blizzard and Xbox made an announcement this week, revealing that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will join Game Pass on July 24, 2024. This is also the date for the release of Season 5 for both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

In simpler terms, the arrival of Modern Warfare 3 on Game Pass in late 2024 has sparked much discussion regarding the partnership between Microsoft’s subscription service and the Call of Duty franchise. Previously, in October 2023, Activision Blizzard stated that they couldn’t bring Modern Warfare 3 to Game Pass at the time. However, when Black Ops 6 was announced for launch day on Game Pass in 2024, there was a noticeable change of heart. It appears now that Xbox and Activision Blizzard are collaborating closely on bringing the popular Call of Duty series to their subscribers.
