As a die-hard fan of the Call of Duty series, I must admit that the latest cinematic trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies has me absolutely thrilled! The return of Edward Richtofen and the possible reappearance of Sam Maxis is like a dream come true. I remember those days when we were fighting zombies together in the original Black Ops, and now here we are, almost a decade later, still battling the undead.
Activision in collaboration with Treyarch unveiled a new, dramatic teaser for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies,” zeroing in on the second launch map named Liberty Falls. Fans of the zombie-themed gameplay may spot some familiar characters and titles.
Who are the characters teased in the Liberty Falls Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies cinematic?
In the zombie mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Liberty Falls serves as the second launch map. According to a post on the Call of Duty blog, this map represents a small West Virginian town that was once peaceful but is now overrun and appears to be ground zero for a Dark Aether outbreak.
The fresh cinematic trailer opens with panoramic views of Liberty Falls’ expansive woodland, accompanied by Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again – reminiscent of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombie mode. Edward Richtofen, a familiar character, is then seen enjoying a peaceful picnic with his wife and child. As he reaches for his wife’s sweater, the forest suddenly erupts in flames, revealing his wife and child, eerily smiling at him from within the inferno. A brief glimpse of their charred remains flashes before he appears to wake up from what seems to be a terrifying dream.
Nevertheless, he finds himself in a second harrowing ordeal as dimensional rifts flare up throughout the compound. Richtofen is depicted employing the Wunderwaffe to quell the zombie menace. Eventually, he manages to elude the undead horde by stepping into an elevator.
In another scenario, a mysterious purplish gas entity captures Richtofen, causing him to vanish abruptly, uttering his final words, “I vow to you, Sam, you’ll never escape.” The trailer concludes with a large, conversational metal orb, the source of the purple gas, saying, “Yet Edward, I am already freed.” This suggests that Sam Maxis might make a comeback in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies game mode.
On October 25, 2024, the new installment in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, namely Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and personal computers. A sneak peek of the Liberty Falls map is scheduled to debut during the Call of Duty: Next event on August 28, 2024.
