BUZZ: Will Mohanlal starrer Thudarum delay its OTT release after garnering Rs 100 crore in Kerala alone?

The movie titled “Thudarum,” featuring Mohanlal as the main character, premiered on the big screen on April 25, 2025. Given that the film is currently doing well in cinemas, there are reports indicating a delay in its digital release on streaming platforms.

According to 123 Telugu’s report, the movie featuring Mohanlal might be released slightly later than anticipated because of its successful theater performance. Earlier, there wasn’t an officially announced release date for this film on the streaming platform JioHotstar.

Typically, films become available on streaming platforms around 4 weeks after their release. But it appears that the release of Thudarum might be delayed slightly. Although an official announcement hasn’t been made yet, there are rumors suggesting that the film’s success in theaters has led to a possible postponement.

For over three weeks at the box office, we shared that the film generated approximately Rs 108.80 crores in Kerala alone. Remarkably, due to the movie’s impressive performance, the creators of Mohanlal’s Chotta Mumbai have opted to delay its re-release from May 21, 2025, which coincides with the actor’s birthday.

As Benz’s journey unfolds, he encounters a challenging predicament that shapes the course of the film. The skillful portrayal of this story is handled by Mohanlal, with notable performances from actors such as Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, and others in significant roles.
