Thalapathy Vijay is excitedly preparing for the launch of his upcoming film, tentatively known as Thalapathy 69. With excitement building around the title reveal, it appears the producers might choose a sentimental touch for what could be Vijay’s last movie.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share some intriguing insights from the world of cinema. It seems that the creators of Thalapathy 69 are contemplating a nostalgic nod to the past by potentially titling their upcoming movie “Naalaiya Theerpu“. For those who might not know, this very same title was used for Vijay’s debut film way back in 1992.
In the 1990s, Vijay made his debut as a leading actor in a movie, following his earlier roles as a child artist. This film, directed by none other than his father, SA Chandrasekhar, was an action-packed vigilante story. Interestingly, it was financed by Shoba Chandrasekhar, Vijay’s mother and a renowned playback singer.
The film in Tamil language narrates the story of a man involved in multiple extramarital relationships that culminate in him allegedly assaulting a woman. However, when the woman gives birth, the businessman’s child endures distress and eventually seeks retribution for these actions.
As a lifestyle expert, I had the pleasure of working alongside Vijay in a captivating production that introduced the talented Keerthana to the limelight. Keerthana, who later graced screens across the South with her performances, initially started her journey in our film and eventually found success in Tamil soap operas. Our cast also boasted an impressive ensemble of veteran actors such as Easwari Rao, Srividya, Radha Ravi, Sarath Babu, and many more, each contributing significantly to the overall success of the production.
In the past, the film failed spectacularly, garnering unfavorable reviews from critics who even made fun of Vijay’s physical appearance.
It appears that the creators of Thalapathy 69 may choose to reuse this title for their upcoming project; however, it’s not officially confirmed at present. The film, directed by H Vinoth and featuring an army setting, is expected to reveal its first look and title on January 26, 2025, which coincides with Republic Day.
In the upcoming movie that’s said to be his last on-screen appearance, Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde take on the leading roles for the women. Additionally, notable actors such as Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, among others, are part of the cast in supporting roles.
