As a fervent admirer of Tamil cinema and a devoted fan of both Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi, I must say that this potential shift in hosting duties for Bigg Boss Tamil has me on the edge of my seat!
Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has temporarily stepped away from hosting Bigg Boss Tamil, and there are indications that producers may be considering another well-known actor as his replacement. According to Lets Cinema’s report, the showrunners are reportedly targeting Vijay Sethupathi for the role in the 8th season of the reality program.
Currently, it’s unconfirmed that the actor will step into his role, as he’s leading contenders for the position. Previously, Kamal Haasan, who has been hosting the show since its debut 7 years ago, decided to take a break due to his busy film schedule.
“It’s with great sadness that I must tell you I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from our incredible journey we started together.”
The actor mentioned that he won’t be able to host the next season of Bigg Boss Tamil because of prior movie obligations, but there’s no specific date as to when he might return to the show.

Additionally, there were rumors that Silambarasan TR might host the program since he previously hosted Bigg Boss Ultimate, its OTT counterpart. Initially, Haasan was set to host the show, but due to scheduling conflicts with Vikram, he had to step down temporarily.
On the professional side of things, Vijay Sethupathi recently appeared in the movie titled Maharaja this year. This film was helmed by Nithilan Swaminathan and showcases Vijay as the proprietor of a barbershop. In the storyline, he portrays a single father to his only child, who share an unusual bond with a steel garbage bin named Lakshmi. This particular bin is significant because it played a role in saving her life at one point.
