As a gamer who has followed wrestling for decades, I can wholeheartedly say that Bryan Danielson‘s journey from WWE to AEW and back to the top as World Heavyweight Champion is nothing short of incredible. His tale mirrors the epic quests we embark on in our favorite video games, overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, and leaving a lasting impact on the gaming world – or in this case, the wrestling world.
Bryan Danielson is one of a select group who have been crowned World Heavyweight Champions in both WWE and AEW. Other names on this exclusive list include Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and CM Punk, each of whom has also claimed the top title in both wrestling organizations.
2014 saw me, Bryan Danielson, etching my name into WWE folklore as Daniel Bryan. In that same year, I managed the seemingly impossible by claiming the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30. The match was a high-risk triple threat showdown against Randy Orton and Batista. But, I defied the odds and emerged victorious, forcing Batista to submit to the Yes Lock. My triumph at WrestleMania 30 remains one of the most cherished moments in WWE history.
2021 saw Bryan Danielson deciding to trust himself and move to AEW. Ever since joining All Elite Wrestling, he’s made numerous attempts to grab the World Title but came up empty-handed. However, last month at AEW All In held at Wembley Stadium, he successfully clinched the title against Swerve Strickland. Now that Bryan Danielson has secured the World Championship in two different promotions and on significant platforms, he’s been taking time to look back on his accomplishments in both WWE and AEW.
What Bryan Danielson revealed about his world title wins?
As a passionate fan, I just can’t help but share my excitement over Bryan Danielson’s recent chat with Justin Barrasso on Undisputed. He took us on a journey, reminiscing about his championship wins at WrestleMania 30 and AEW All In. What made this conversation so captivating was Bryan’s comparison of the thrill of winning the title in AEW against his triumph at WrestleMania 30 a decade ago – two moments that, while unique in their own ways, shared a special connection.
It’s fascinating to compare the thrill of claiming a championship title now in AEW versus a decade ago at WrestleMania 30. Both experiences were incredibly exciting. On that special occasion, my sister and nieces had the privilege of joining me inside the ring, whereas during this event, Brie was instructed not to make an appearance from Gorilla.
Danielson went on to say, “That situation struck me as a bit unusual. However, at Wembley, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude. My son enjoys it when I perform a powerbomb move on him at home. If I had won, he said he wanted me to do the same in the ring. Initially, I planned to, but he was too preoccupied with collecting confetti. The entire experience was truly magical.
Right now, Bryan Danielson is performing exceptionally well in AEW. However, there’s been a rise in friction with his Blackpool Combat Club colleagues, who assaulted him during the AEW All Out event a few weeks back. Upcoming, Danielson will square off against Nigel McGuinness at AEW Grand Slam, an event slated for next week on Dynamite.
