2024’s WrestleDream finds Bryan Danielson, the current AEW World Champion, responding to Claudio Castagnoli’s remarks regarding their upcoming match. In an unexpected turn at All Out, Jon Moxley stunned fans by attacking Danielson moments after his title defense against Jack Perry.

Christian Cage seemed prepared to utilize his AEW title clause, but an unexpected event unfolded as Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Pac entered the scene. In a shocking turn of events, Moxley and Castagnoli turned against Danielson, with Pac preventing Wheeler Yuta from intervening. As a result of this betrayal, Jon Moxley claimed the position of number one contender for AEW WrestleDream 2024, snatching it away from Darby Allin, who had originally held that spot.

The Blackpool Combat Club has been focusing on Bryan Danielson since AEW All Out. More recently, a member of the group, Claudio Castagnoli, talked to Sports Illustrated. He disclosed that this upcoming match on Dynamite will be Danielson’s final one before his career-ending bout with Jon Moxley at WrestleDream.

In Dynamite, a matchup was planned between Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta against PAC and Claudio Castagnoli. However, before the contest began, Danielson took a moment to respond to Claudio’s statement regarding this potentially being his last Dynamite showdown.

Bryan Danielson to Claudio Castagnoli: ‘This isn’t my last match on dynamite’

Prior to AEW Dynamite, the promotion released a video showcasing Bryan Danielson’s response to Claudio Castagnoli’s statements. In this video, Danielson countered Claudio’s claim about his last match on Dynamite by stating it wouldn’t be so. He expressed confidence in his and Wheeler Yuta’s ability to defeat both Claudio and Pac during the Dynamite event.

He stated, “So apparently Claudio did an interview with Sports Illustrated, telling everybody this was gonna be my last match on Dynamite. Well guess what Claudio, big news, this isn’t gonna be my last match on Dynamite. Tonight, I’m gonna run through you and PAC. Me and Wheeler Yuta are gonna run through you guys. And then Saturday at WrestleDream, Mox, you don’t know what you got coming to you.

Danielson further stated, “Claudio, for the past 20 years, I’ve been your ally. In every business we’ve collaborated on, I’ve stood by your side. However, tonight, tonight, I won’t be offering my support. Instead, you’ll find me in Spokane, Washington, ready to confront you.

In the latter part of the program, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta emerged victorious against Claudio Castagnoli and PAC. With Danielson taking charge, he will be defending his AEW World Championship title against Jon Moxley this coming Saturday, October 12, at AEW WrestleDream 2024 in Washington.
