Bruce Springsteen Biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere Casts Steven Van Zandt Role

As a lifelong fan of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” The casting of Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt is spot on! Cannizzaro’s portrayal of Nick DeVito in Jersey Boys and his role in Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys movie has proven that he can capture the essence of a complex character like Van Zandt.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m all pumped up about the upcoming biopic on the legendary Bruce Springsteen titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere“. Guess what? They’ve just announced who’ll be stepping into the shoes of Steven Van Zandt – one of The Boss’s E Street Band members. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds on the big screen!

The film “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is inspired by Warren Zanes’ book, “Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.” In the movie, Jeremy Allen White from “The Bear” will portray Bruce Springsteen.

By the Set Date, Johnny Cannizzaro will portray Steven Van Zandt in the upcoming film. Van Zandt is a long-term confidant and band member of Bruce Springsteen, known for his role in the E Street Band. Notably, he also played Silvio Dante in The Sopranos, with John Magaro portraying a younger version of this character in the 2021 prequel movie The Many Saints of Newark.

In 2014, Cannizzaro portrayed Nick DeVito in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation of Jersey Boys. Besides this, he has been featured in multiple episodes of General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds, Quantum Leap, and various other roles on television.

What else do we know about the Bruce Springsteen movie Deliver Me From Nowhere?

Deliver Me From Nowhere also stars Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, and Harrison Sloan Gilbertson.

The movie is about a period when Springsteen struggled with personal issues and aimed to become a worldwide sensation, eventually composing and recording the 1982 album Nebraska, which is often compared to Joni Mitchell’s Blue as one of the most emotionally bare, gloomy, and truthful albums in contemporary music history, according to Deadline.

As a dedicated admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be witnessing Scott Cooper’s latest directorial masterpiece, “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” This accomplished filmmaker has previously brought us captivating narratives such as the 2009 heart-wrenching tale of country music, “Crazy Heart,” the gritty drama “Out of the Furnace” in 2013, the chilling biopic “Black Mass” in 2015, the poignant western “Hostiles” in 2017, the haunting mystery “Antlers” in 2021, and the recent historical thriller “The Pale Blue Eye” in 2022. Each of these films showcases Cooper’s unique storytelling abilities, making me eager to see what he has in store for us this time around!

Alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Copper Zanes, Scott Stuber is overseeing the production of this upcoming film. Bruce Springsteen is also reportedly taking an active role in its development.

An official release date for Deliver Me From Nowhere has not been announced at this time.
