Bruce Dern, Julia Fox, and More Join Road Trip Comedy Northbound

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for indie films, the upcoming road trip comedy “Northbound” has piqued my interest like nothing else in recent memory. The star-studded cast featuring Bruce Dern, Julia Fox, and an array of other talented actors promises a rollercoaster ride that I simply can’t afford to miss.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that legendary actor Bruce Dern from “The Hateful Eight” and rising star Julia Fox of “Uncut Gems” will be joining forces for an exciting indie road trip comedy titled “Northbound“. Can’t wait to hit the virtual roads with them!

In the upcoming indie road trip comedy, titled “William Scoular’s New Project” (previously known as “Survival Box”), we find Hunter Parrish of Weeds fame sharing the screen with Joanna Cassidy, a star from Blade Runner. Completing the cast are Graham Greene (Reservation Dogs), Walter Borden (Coroner), Dylan Baker (LaRoy, Texas), and humorist Russell Peters.

Written by Ashlin Halfnight (The New Look), Northbound hails from Gatehouse Productions, Beyond the Frame, and Lumanity.

What is Northbound about?

According to the outline, the movie Northbound features Arthur (Dern), an elderly outlaw, who persuades his grandson Kevin (Parrish) to aid him in escaping a nursing home. As Kevin drives him from Arizona to Canada, their adventure veers far from the ordinary. Along the way, they encounter a mysterious and perilous woman (Fox), and as the miles pass, love develops, gunfire erupts, and Arthur attempts to convince his grandson to continue the family’s whiskey enterprise. As they near their destination, Arthur discloses that he has past transgressions to make amends for during this wild ride toward redemption.

The movie is produced by Saad Siddiqui and Scoular from Gatehouse Productions, Robert Budreau from Lumanity, and Jason Ross Jallet and Andrew Bronfman from Beyond the Frame. Wendy La Brier from Gatehouse Productions and Jonathan Bronfman from Beyond the Frame serve as executive producers.

Dern is particularly recognized for his performances in movies like Coming Home, Family Plot, Black Sunday, The ‘Burbs, Silent Running, Monster, Nebraska, and The King of Marvin Gardens. On the other hand, Fox began her career in feature films with the 2019 crime thriller Uncut Gems.

Parrish appears in Sleepover, Freedom Writers, 17 Again, It’s Complicated, Still Alice, Good Girls Revolt, and The Other Black Girl, while Cassidy is recognized for roles in films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, The Grudge 2, among others.
