Britney Spears has responded following criticism over smoking during a flight. It’s said that she ignited a cigarette while on a flight that took place on May 22, which violates aviation rules. This happened on a JSX chartered flight traveling from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles. Even though she extinguished the cigarette when asked by flight personnel, the incident prompted further action upon landing by the authorities.

Without providing a statement, the charter company remained silent. However, Spears decided to express her viewpoint on Instagram the following day. In a post dated May 23rd, she appeared to characterize the event as amusing, saying, “Me yesterday!!! It’s actually hilariously funny!!!”.

In her post, she shared that she felt clear-headed and intelligent following her first vodka experience, and humorously suggested that the plane’s layout led her to believe smoking was allowed. Spears expressed this by saying, “On some planes you can’t smoke, but this one was unique because the cup holders were outside the seat!” The singer continued, “My friend slipped it into my mouth and lit it for me, so I thought, ‘Ah, this must be a plane where smoking is allowed!’

In addition, Spears voiced annoyance towards a flight attendant who she believed behaved oddly and overstepped boundaries. She penned down, “The flight attendant reported me to authorities for smoking a cigarette!! It was mortifying, I thought it was excessive, but apparently she didn’t care for me from the moment I boarded the plane.

Apologizing to those potentially offended by her actions, she acknowledged that despite the lack of formal accusations, upon landing, authorities gave her a caution for breaking the rules regarding airline regulations.
