Brilliant Minds isn’t on tonight (here’s why and when it will return)

As a devoted fan of Brilliant Minds, I must say this break is like a cold shower in the middle of a scorching summer day. But hey, I’ve been through worse – binge-watching entire seasons in one go during a power outage!

Unfortunately for fans of Brilliant Minds, there won’t be a fresh episode airing on Monday, December 16.

Absolutely, there’s no need to worry about the show getting cancelled – at least, not right now. This temporary pause is for a valid reason, and we’re excited to share that we do know when the show will resume with fresh episodes. In fact, we’ve already begun brainstorming some exciting plotlines for when the series comes back!

Brilliant Minds has aired its last episode of 2024

It’s no wonder that you might find this out, but the eleventh episode of Brilliant Minds Season 1 served as the final installment for the year 2024.

During this season, most networks occasionally pause their usual programming. This is because linear ratings tend to decrease as people engage in activities like spending time with loved ones, attending work functions, or participating in community events. Additionally, there’s often a surge of last-minute shopping that takes up a significant amount of time and attention.

Instead, networks tend to air repeats and special holiday shows. On this particular night, NBC will offer a lineup of Christmas tunes, starting with “Big Little Town’s Christmas at the Opry” followed by “Michael Buble’s Christmas in the City“.

When will Brilliant Minds return with new episodes?

There are a few more episodes left, and we’ll be able to catch the series again in 2025. NBC has announced that it will resume on Monday, January 6th. As per the norm, it will be broadcast at 10 p.m., both Eastern and Pacific Time.

Instead of having a lengthy hiatus, this break turns out to be quite brief compared to other networks. Surprisingly, it’s the shortest one. The initial week of January is a significant period for NBC’s shows coming back on air, and the series Brilliant Minds will be the one to initiate the comeback.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t wait to see how the series unfolds following the jaw-dropping cliffhanger in the fall finale. The building that Ericka was in has crumbled, and it appears she and two others were caught in an elevator when it happened. This precarious situation could potentially buy them some time, but only if people understand they’re trapped. Time is running out though, as their oxygen supply is finite!

This season, Ericka has had the least amount of her personal storylines explored among the four interns. It’s high time for that to shift, and we’re eager to see how she’ll manage when she’s trapped inside an elevator—and what kind of medical emergency might occur within that confined space. Something exciting is bound to happen!
