Previously, it was revealed in July that Luke Thompson would star as Benedict Bridgerton in the fourth installment of the show. Naturally, this sparked curiosity among fans about who might portray Sophie Beckett, Benedict’s potential love interest.

In July 2024, a call for auditions was made to find an actress to portray a character named “Emily” in the fourth season. However, it was suspected that this name was a pseudonym, and not the character’s actual name on the show. The casting team was seeking an East Asian actress who appeared to be around 24-30 years old for the role. Interestingly, Ha matches these specifications perfectly. She is Korean and 29 years old. It seems that the production team might have been searching for an actress named Sophie instead.
With Sophie Beckett now cast in the role, all the anticipation and guesswork can finally end. Although she may not have extensive acting experience, she undeniably shows promise as an up-and-coming talent. I’ve had the chance to view some of her earlier performances, and I must admit, I was quite taken aback by her skill. I eagerly await seeing her tackle a character unlike any she has portrayed before.
