As a die-hard Bridgerton fan who has eagerly awaited each new season like a starving peasant anticipates the arrival of summer’s first ripe berries, I must say that the news of Season 4’s production commencement has left me positively giddy with excitement! The thought of Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha bringing Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek to life on screen is enough to make my heart flutter like a schoolgirl at her first dance.
Rise up, everyone, for Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton! Here is your first look at Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson together on the Bridgerton Season 4 set. Production has now officially begun.

After much speculation on when the cast and crew will start filming, that speculation ends today since we now have confirmation that production has begun. While filming is taking place in the United Kingdom like always, the cast and crew will also be shooting at a new filming location this season.
They’ll shoot specific sequences on a freshly built backlot at Shepperton Studios. The production design team behind Bridgerton, including Alison Gartshore (Production Designer), Antony Cartlidge (Supervising Art Director), and Adam David Grant (Art Director), collaborated to build set pieces that mimic Georgian and Regency-era architecture. Given Bridggeton’s renowned scenic backdrops, we anticipate the new set to be equally impressive.
This year’s narrative focuses on Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest brother from the Bridgerton clan, portrayed by Luke Thompson. We delve into his quest for love, eventually drawing him towards the mesmerizing Lady Silver, Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
In addition to Thompson and Ha, we have Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton, Victor Alli as Lord John Stirling, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Julie Andrews as Lady Whistledown, Lorraine Ashbourne as Mrs. Varley, Masali Baduza as Michaela Stirling, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Bridgerton, Hannah Dodd as Francesca Stirling, Daniel Francis as Lord Marcus Anderson, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton, Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich, Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Will Tilston as Gregory Bridgarton, and Polly Walker as Portia Featherington joining the cast.
This upcoming season sees the return of Emma Naomi as Alice Mondrich and Hugh Sachs as Brimsley, now permanent additions to the show’s primary cast.
In addition, three fresh actors, namely Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, and Isabella Wei, have been chosen to portray Sophie’s relatives on the show.
In the series “The Peripheral,” Katie Leung plays Lady Araminta Gun, who serves as Sophie’s stepmother. She has been a widow twice from her two marriages. Among her family are daughters Rosamund and Posy Li, whom she hopes to see married soon. Her determination lies in ensuring at least one of them finds a spouse.
In a different phrasing, Michelle Mao takes on the character of Rosamund Li, who happens to be Araminta’s eldest child and constantly strives to win her mother’s approval. Once Benedict catches her attention, she sets her heart on winning him over instead.
In the year 1899, Isabella Wei presents Posy Li, Araminta’s youngest daughter, who, like her elder sister, is set to make her debut this year. Unlike Rosamund, however, Posy is more sociable and talkative, a trait that tends to divert their stern mother’s attention less from her.
For the fourth season of “Bridgerton,” we’ll have eight episodes similar to the previous seasons. Once again, Jess Brownell will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen will also be back in their roles as executive producers for season 4.
