As a dedicated Brawl Stars player with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be an unparalleled year for our favorite mobile battle arena game! Frank Keienburg’s roadmap video has left me buzzing with excitement, and I can hardly wait to see these updates materialize.
Brawl Stars is experiencing its peak right now, with surging interest, regular and impactful content upgrades, an expanding community, and major partnerships. It’s not hard to understand why the game has scaled new heights in 2024.
As the end of the year approaches and 2025 fast approaching, there’s a growing sense of anticipation within the community about the future of Brawl Stars and how Supercell plans to enhance the gaming experience moving forward.
Luckily, Frank Keienburg, the Head of Brawl Stars, has shared a sneak peek into the game’s plans for the upcoming year in a recent video.
Without a doubt, this roadmap is extensive and it’s no surprise that it’s jam-packed with intriguing details. From massive overhauls to numerous new partnerships, the year 2025 promises to be an exciting one worth anticipating.
Brawl Stars Roadmap 2025 Overview
If you’re not up-to-date with the release schedule for Brawl Stars, it’s crucial to know that new updates typically unfold within a span of two months. Additionally, remember that the concepts shared by Frank are mostly tentative and could undergo modifications in the future. As we get closer to the actual updates, we’ll have a clearer picture of their final form.
February 2025
The initial update of the year is geared towards bringing a tighter connection between our Competitive mode and the Brawl Stars esports world. In many mobile games, the competitive, skill-based mode serves as a stepping stone for players to qualify for the main esports tournament. This is what Supercell aims to accomplish with this integration, also providing an opportunity for more laid-back players to participate.
The primary goal of this update for Supercell is to enhance the competitiveness of the Ranked mode. They aim to create a more seamless progression from casual play to professional level, as well as incorporate quality-of-life upgrades. This could potentially include a guaranteed Ranked skin upon opening a specific number of Ranked Drops.
April 2025
A significant collaboration is set to debut in this month’s update, but the details about who or what it involves are yet to be revealed. However, we have been hinted that it’s an incredibly exciting partnership, so if it turns out to be something akin to the Spongebob Squarepants crossover, then you won’t want to miss it!
Besides this, small gameplay improvements will be introduced.
June 2025
This month’s update is set to bring a significant revamp to one of the gameplay elements, and it’s still undecided if they will focus on revising the Mastery System or the Trophy Progression (Trophy Road). It’s also possible that both systems might receive an overhaul simultaneously.
Through Trophy Road, there are plans to enrich the gaming experience by delving deeper into Starr Park’s history, a currently under-explored aspect in the game. This intriguing lore has been hinted at through social media posts, such as the Starr Park CCTV story that circulated towards the end of 2023. It’s possible we might uncover more of this engaging narrative within Brawl Stars. However, no specifics were disclosed regarding the Mastery System overhaul.
Furthermore, Supercell has indicated that “given all goes smoothly,” every brawler in the upcoming update will possess at least one Hypercharge ability. As a result, any freshly introduced brawlers from now on will have their Hypercharge abilities already available for unlocking right from their debut.
In this update, we’ll be initiating a fresh collaboration as well. Additionally, we might explore the popular demand for “brawler achievements” – a feature requested by our community.
August 2025
With all brawlers now possessing their own Hypercharge, Supercell is now focusing on addressing the “Power Point” problem that seasoned Brawl Stars players often encounter. The proposed solution isn’t necessarily adding Power Level 12, as the developers believe this might not be fair to newcomers. Instead, they are still deliberating on the next course of action.
Currently, what we understand is their intention to develop something novel that offers an enjoyable experience, provides a fresh means of demonstrating proficiency, and will primarily be enhanced using Power Points.
October 2025
2025’s final update is set to bring a significant overhaul to the Map Maker tool, aimed at streamlining the process of map approval and facilitating easy sharing between players using unique codes provided by Supercell.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the prospect of having more creative control in the game. Not only do they plan to let us design our own maps, but they’re also aiming to give us the power to create custom game modes and activities. The ultimate goal is to turn Map Maker into an immersive sandbox-like experience, where we can unleash our creativity and truly make the game our own.
