As a gamer, after finishing an endless string of high-profile projects that left me craving something more, I found myself in a familiar yet uncomfortable place: staring at the ceiling, pondering my next move. During that period, Cynthia Pett-Dante, Brad Pitt’s manager and confidant, handed me a script for an upcoming movie titled Seven. At first sight, it didn’t strike me as anything extraordinary. Yet, her persistence compelled me to continue reading, and I eventually consented to a meeting with Fincher. As I delved into the first seven pages, I was taken aback, picking up the phone to express my disbelief. She simply replied, “Just finish it.
Following completion of the script, Pitt had a pivotal meeting with director David Fincher. He later reminisced, “Then I sat down with Finch, and he spoke about films as if I’d never heard anyone discuss film before. It reignited my passion.” The actor further explained, “Discovering that spark… It gave me a newfound enthusiasm for this project.
1995 saw the unveiling of Seven, a psychological thriller that earned critical acclaim as one of the best in contemporary cinema.
