The ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie regarding their old French property, Château Miraval, has taken a new twist. Now, Pitt aims to acquire personal text messages that could be relevant to the questionable transaction involving Jolie selling her stake in the vineyard.
Brad Pitt files motion to access Angelina Jolie’s private texts amid legal battle over French winery
Brad Pitt has taken steps to intensify his ongoing legal battle with ex-spouse Angelina Jolie by submitting a request for access to her private correspondences. The two have been at odds over matters concerning their shared French vineyard, Château Miraval. As reported in court documents, Pitt is seeking the court’s intervention to require Oliynik to undergo questioning (deposition) and hand over his conversations with Jolie. Pitt believes these communications are crucial for resolving the case, as they allegedly contain pertinent information. (Based on Page Six)
The renowned Formula 1 driver contends that attempts to settle matters with Oliynik have yielded no results thus far. In his court submission, Pitt asserts that Oliynik has failed to cooperate, pointing out Switzerland’s law which forbids compelling foreign citizens to attend legal hearings in California. Nevertheless, Pitt’s legal team argues that this rule does not pertain to the current situation. They are instead asking for a remote deposition to be conducted at the location where Oliynik is currently residing.
The disagreement over the legal matter arose when Jolie disposed of her stake in Château Miraval, which she and Pitt had jointly bought during their romantic involvement. Pitt asserts that she made this move out of retaliation towards him following their contentious split. In 2022, he took legal action against her, asserting that the sale was motivated by vengeance.
According to recent court papers, Pitt claims that Oliynik had a significant part in the deal, not just simple participation. Moreover, it appears he was following the lead of Yuri Shefler, the proprietor of Stoli Group. The motion depicts Oliynik as a crucial figure in the transaction and a vital witness for the case.
According to a source, Stoli often elects to bypass or contest decisions made in court cases based on evidence. It appears they have not been following the standard legal procedures as expected. Currently, there’s no fixed court date set for the ongoing lawsuit.
