Over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, Disney’s The Lion King regained the top position at the U.S. movie theaters, whereas Sony’s film One of Them Days outperformed Blumhouse’s The Wolf Man.
This past week, Mufasa reclaimed the number one spot according to Deadline, earning an extra $15.5 million. With this new revenue, the film’s total US earnings surpass $200 million.
On the other hand, One of Them Days brought approximately $14 million, similar to the movie’s projected budget. The Wolf Man wasn’t much less with roughly $12 million earnings, despite having a higher estimated budget of $25 million.
Box Office Results: Domestic Top 10
1). In the third week of “The Lion King” (Disney), the film played in 3,555 theaters, earning $2.5 million on Friday, a 13% decrease compared to the previous day. On Saturday, it brought in $5 million and $4 million on Sunday, resulting in a total of $11.5 million over the weekend, which is a 19% drop from the previous week. Over four days, it made $15.5 million, bringing its total to $209.7 million in its fifth week.

In four days, it made $11 million, bringing its total earnings to $218.8 million in its fifth week.
In the second installation of Moana, it was screened in 2,825 theaters (decreased by 345), and on its opening day, Friday, it earned a steady $1.2 million. The earnings significantly increased to $2.6 million on Saturday, followed by $2.2 million on Sunday. Over the three-day weekend, it made $6.1 million, which is a 7% decrease compared to the previous week. By Monday, its four-day total had reached $8.4 million. To date, the movie has grossed a total of $445.2 million.
Den of Thieves 2: Panthera (LG) Expands to 3,008 Theaters on its Second Weekend, Earning $6.6 Million Over Three Days (-56%) and $7.7 Million over Four Days, Bringing Total Gross to $27.3 Million
In the second week of release, Den of Thieves 2: Panthera (LG) expanded its theater count to a total of 3,008 screens. During its third day, it grossed $2 million, marking a 65% drop from its opening weekend. However, on Saturday, it saw an increase in earnings with $2.65 million, and on Sunday, it earned $1.95 million. In the span of three days, Den of Thieves 2: Panthera (LG) made a total of $6.6 million, representing a decrease of 56%. When considering the four-day weekend, its earnings amounted to $7.7 million. To date, the film has accumulated a total gross of $27.3 million.
7). The movie Nosferatu (Foc) was screened in 2,545 theaters, earning $1.2 million on its first day (-38% compared to the previous day). On Saturday, it made $1.6 million and $1.4 million on Sunday, resulting in a 3-day total of $4.3 million (-38% compared to the opening day). Over four days, it earned an additional $0.9 million, bringing its total earnings to $90.2 million after four weeks.
A Complete Unknown (Sea)
– In 2,500 (minus 310) theaters, it grossed $1.1 million on Friday (-19% compared to previous day), followed by $1.5 million on Saturday and then $1.1 million on Sunday. The 3-day total was $3.79 million (-21% from the first three days). After four days, it made a total of $4.6 million. To date, its total earnings are at $58.3 million, marking its fourth week in release.
9). Evil (Universal) movie, played in 2,352 theaters, earned $820K (-29%) on Friday, followed by $1.5M on Saturday and $1.2M on Sunday, resulting in a 3-day total of $3.55M (-31%). The 4-day total was $4.56M. In one week, it has made a grand total of $465.5 million.
10). In 1,460 theaters (a decrease of 427), the film “Babygirl” (A24) earned $602,000 on its first day (-30%), followed by $746,000 on Saturday and $672,000 on Sunday. This results in a 3-day total of $2 million (-30%) and a 4-day total of $2.45 million. To date, the film has earned a total of $25.8 million in its fourth week.
