Box Office Results: Flight Risk Overthrows Mufasa, The Brutalist Cracks Domestic Top 10

The Mark Wahlberg-starring Flight Risk won the box office this past weekend in the United States.

This past Friday, Flight Risk debuted nationwide and raked in around $12 million over the three-day weekend. Mufasa: The Lion King followed closely behind with earnings of about $8.7 million, while Steven Soderbergh’s Presence managed to earn $4.3 million during its initial weekend, landing it in sixth place.

Following its Best Picture Oscar nomination, A24’s “The Brutalist” climbed up to the top ten as it was screened in more theaters, according to Deadline. On the other hand, “One of Them Days” ranked third in its second week on release, earning an extra $8 million.

Box Office Results: Domestic Top 10

3). On one of those unforgettable days (Them Days, Sony), I found myself in 2,675 theaters nationwide. On its opening Friday, it brought in $2.2 million, and that figure skyrocketed to $3.6 million on Saturday. Sunday saw a slight dip with $2 million, but overall, it made an impressive $8 million over the weekend – a 32% drop from its initial week. As of Week 2, the total box office earnings stand at $25 million. What a ride it’s been!

4). In its sixth week, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Part 3) was shown in 3,097 theaters, earning $1.1 million on Friday, a decrease of 37%. On Saturday, it grossed $2.7 million, and on Sunday, it made $1.7 million. Over the weekend, its total earnings amounted to $5.5 million, representing a 36% drop from the previous week. To date, it has accumulated a total of $226 million.

Movie “Moana 2” earned $861,000 on its second Friday, down by 28%, followed by $2.1 million on Saturday and $1.3 million on Sunday, making a total of $4.3 million for the weekend and dropping by 28%. In nine weeks, the movie has accumulated a grand total of $450 million at the box office.

7). In 3,354 theaters across the country, Wolf Man (Uni) earned approximately $900,000 on its first day, marking a 79% drop compared to its previous day’s gross. The film then took in $1.5 million on Saturday and $940,000 on Sunday, bringing its three-day total to about $3.4 million – a decrease of 69% from its opening week earnings. To date, the film has made a total of $17.8 million after its first week in theaters.

Den of Thieves 2: Panthera (LG) – In 2,108 theaters, the second installment of Den of Thieves 2 grossed $835,000 on its first day, followed by $1.5 million on Saturday and $665,000 on Sunday, totaling a three-day earnings of $3 million, representing a decrease of 58%. The movie has accumulated a total of $31.6 million in its third week.

10). The movie theater count for A24’s Brutalist stands at 1,118 (previously 338), and its earnings over the weekend were impressive:
