Box Office Results: Dog Man Stays on Top, Heart Eyes Beats Love Hurts

For the second week in a row, Universal’s “Dog Man” movie claimed the top position at the U.S. box office.

Over the weekend just passed, I can’t help but share my excitement as Dog Man raked in an extra $13.7 million at our home turf box office! Despite a 62% dip compared to its opening weekend, it managed to snatch the top spot and has now amassed over $50 million right here in the U.S. alone – talk about a blockbuster hit!

By the set deadline, Josh Ruben’s romantic slasher film Heart Eyes secured the second position with a revenue of $8.5 million. This figure surpassed the earnings of the fresh action movie Love Hurts, featuring Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, which grossed $5.8 million.

In its eighth week on screen, The Lion King ranked fourth, just behind Companion. Meanwhile, the Led Zeppelin documentary titled “Becoming” managed to secure a spot in the top ten with an impressive earnings of $2.62 million, landing at number seven.

Box Office Results: Domestic Top 10

1). In its third week, Dog Man 3 played in 3,857 theaters, earning $3.2 million on Friday (-70% compared to the previous day), followed by $7.3 million on Saturday and $3.1 million on Sunday, totaling $13.7 million for the weekend (-62%). So far, it has made a total of $54.1 million in its second week at the box office.

4). On the second day, Mufasa was shown in 2,945 (-235) theaters, earning $1 million on Friday (-27%) and $2.1 million on Saturday. It made $824K on Sunday, totaling a three-day take of $3.9 million (-38%). The film has now grossed a total of $235.2M in its eighth week.

Movie Companion (Wide Release / Nationwide) played in 3,285 theaters, earning $1.06 million on its first day (-74%) and increasing to $1.4 million on Saturday and $560,000 on Sunday, giving it a 3-day total of $3.02 million (-68%). Its cumulative box office for the second week stands at $15.4 million.

One of Their Days (Sony) was screened in 2,051 theaters (-255 from the previous week), with earnings of $1 million on Friday (-40% compared to the first day), $1.4 million on Saturday, and $500,000 on Sunday. This results in a 3-day total of $3 million, a decrease of 50%, bringing the current week’s total to $39.3 million.

8). Potential for High Departure (LG) in approximately 2,740 theaters, earning $825K on its first day, $1.3M on the second, and $450K on the third, totaling $2.6M over three days, marking a 50% decrease from previous week’s earnings. To date, it has made a total of $25.1M.

Over the weekend, it raked in an impressive $960K on Saturday and $385K on Sunday, bringing its 3-day total to $1.75M, marking a 46% decrease. To date, it has grossed a whopping $233 million in its eighth week.

10). In the first week of release, Moana 2 saw a decrease in its theaters from 2,195 to 1,785, earning $370,000 on Friday (a 36% drop), $850,000 on Saturday, and $324,000 on Sunday. Over the course of three days, it grossed a total of $1.54 million, marking a 46% decline from its previous week’s earnings. To date, the film has accumulated a grand total of $456.1 million.
