Box Office Results: A Minecraft Movie Has Huge Weekend, Snow White Still Struggling

A Minecraft Movie has brought some life back to the box office.

During its debut weekend at U.S. cinemas, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Minecraft film grossed around $163 million. This figure surpasses the earnings of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which made $146 million. However, it’s worth mentioning that The Super Mario Bros. was launched on a Tuesday and its five-day domestic total was $204.6 million.

Despite being a relatively recent release in 2025, the Minecraft movie has garnered the largest domestic opening yet this year. As reported by Deadline, it ranks as Warner Bros. Pictures’ third highest domestic opening of all time, trailing only behind 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169 million) and 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million).

In the box office race, the Jason Statham action film titled “A Working Man” took the runner-up spot, earning approximately $7.2 million. On the other hand, Disney’s live-action retelling of Snow White has seen a decrease in earnings during its third week, bringing in around $5.9 million.
