Actor Donnie Wahlberg has disclosed the possible launch period for the “Blue Bloods” spin-off titled “Boston Blue.
Back in February 2025, I got thrilled to hear that CBS unveiled a new series titled Boston Blue, following the conclusion of the iconic Blue Bloods in December 2024. As of now, the producers haven’t disclosed who will be gracing our screens as the main cast for this upcoming show, except for Wahlberg. I can hardly wait to see who else they’ve got lined up!

Recently, actor Donnie Wahlberg caught Blue Bloods fans off guard with an Instagram post featuring a brief teaser of the upcoming spin-off titled Boston Blue.

Mark Wahlberg’s brief video teaser announces that the spin-off of the show will debut this autumn. He also shared his enthusiasm by captioning the post, “Thrilled to keep the tradition going, reveal many mysteries, answer some long-standing questions and invite everyone – welcome to #BostonBlue! The new phase in the #BlueBloods saga is about to start. Can’t wait to see you on CBS this fall!
As per Entertainment Weekly’s report, the narrative of Boston Blue centers on Detective Danny Reagan, portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. In this upcoming series, Detective Reagan encounters fresh obstacles as he relocates to Boston and assumes a position at the Boston Police Department.
In December 2024, Wahlberg spoke with Entertainment Weekly about a possible change in his character’s storyline. Not only did he hint at a spin-off, but also shared his vision for Danny’s future. He expressed that he wanted Danny to start anew in a new location, still performing similar duties. Additionally, Wahlberg mentioned that he hoped to collaborate with a Blue Bloods cast member on this spin-off project. Lastly, he emphasized that he didn’t want Danny to be too far away from his family, so they could continue seeing and spending time together.
