Borderlands Movie Ending Explained & Spoilers: Who Is the Key to the Vault?

What happens in the ending of the Borderlands movie?

In essence, the storyline of Borderlands mainly centers around Lilith (Blanchett). Following her departure from her home planet, Pandora, for many years, she decides to go back with the mission of rescuing the daughter of the primary villain, Atlas (Ramírez). During this journey, she encounters friendships, exciting adventures, and discovers the true meaning of her existence.

Upon reaching Pandora, Lilith – a bounty hunter – uncovers a hidden intention behind her employer Atlas’s quest to retrieve his alleged daughter Tina. Throughout the movie, it transpires that Tina is a clone fabricated by Atlas using Eridian blood he discovered. The Eridians were an advanced alien species believed to be extinct and who once dwelt on Pandora. It’s suggested that the Vault in Borderlands contains knowledge and weaponry of this civilization, which is precisely what Atlas seeks.

1. In collaboration with mercenary soldier Roland and Psycho Krieg, Lilith confronts the Crimson Lance, which is Atlas’ personal army, as well as a group of Psychos. Following a discussion between Atlas and Lilith, Tina mistakenly assumes that Lilith has turned against her and the other Vaunt Hunters. In response, she throws a grenade to knock out Lilith.

Upon uncovering the mysterious Vault, the Vault Hunters discover that Atlas had previously found it. Unfortunately, Tina was unable to unlock its secrets. However, just when all hope seemed lost, Lilith appeared on the scene. To everyone’s astonishment, she revealed herself not only as an Eridian being but also as a manifestation of their revered deity Firehawk. With her divine powers, Lilith successfully opened the Vault, thereby proving herself to be the crucial component necessary for its unlocking.

Following Lilith’s victory over Atlas alongside her companions, there seems to be a hint that she may choose to reside on Pandora alongside Tina and the rest of their group.

Previously stated, there’s a widespread belief that the Vault holds weapons created by an extinct alien race called the Eridians. In a dramatic turn of events, the heroic characters and the antagonist come face-to-face with a titanic creature in the climax. This monster, frequently appearing in the games, is called the Destroyer – a colossal, interstellar being characterized by a massive maw and numerous tentacles. It’s said that the Eridian civilization was wiped out while attempting to control this fearsome entity.

Does Atlas die in the Borderlands movie?

Who programs Claptrap to assist Lilith?

In Borderlands, it was Lilith’s mother who had programmed the robot, Claptrap, to aid Lilith.
