Enthusiasts of “The Bold and the Beautiful” have been thrilled to learn that Jack Wagner is coming back to the widely-watched soap. The actor has disclosed that he will reprise the role of Nick Marone from June 16 onwards in the series. In a recent interview, Wagner discussed his choice to return to the legendary soap opera.
Jack Wagner explains why he returned to The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick Marone
Recently, Jack Wagner spoke with Soap Opera Digest about rejoining CBS soap opera as Nick Marone. He revealed that an unexpected meeting with The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and chief writer, Brad Bell, was what ultimately led him to return to the show.
Wagner recounted, “Approximately six months ago, I bumped into Brad Bell at the golf course, and I said something like, ‘Hey buddy, I’m planning to visit Italy this summer. Would you like me to handle some press for your show? I know it’s been a while since I’ve been on.’ He replied, ‘That sounds fantastic.’
Since Wagner wasn’t anticipating a response from Bell right away, he expressed surprise when Bell contacted him for a discussion about a fresh plotline. He mentioned that Bell called around six weeks later, which happened to be during his free period before returning to When Calls the Heart, the TV show he stars in on the Hallmark Channel.
Wagner stated, “He asked, ‘Can you work on a summer plotline for The Bold and The Beautiful? I’ve got an idea. We could wrap up filming in Naples since Nick would be running Marone shipping by then.’ To which I replied, ‘Sure!’
Back in March of ’03, I stepped onto the set of The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick Marone, a character that became my own over nine years. From 2003 to early 2012, I breathed life into this role before taking a break from the show. However, last year for the series’ 35th anniversary special episode, I graced the screen once more, but not as a permanent cast member. But wait, Fans will get to see me back in action soon, embarking on an exhilarating new storyline in this sudser. Can’t wait to be back!
