He fears that his decisions could have adversely affected Eric and Ridge, two important individuals in his life. Carter makes his way to Hope’s cabin where he discloses that Ridge and Eric have intentions of regaining control over the business. Hope refuses this proposition, feeling that they aim to seize their rightfully-acquired profits. She brings up their present management, suggesting a meeting if they wish to rejoin the company’s affairs. For now, she is not interested in discussing it and prefers to concentrate on their romantic night together instead.

A remorseful Carter realizes that his role as head of the company isn’t due to tearing up the LLC documents. When he brings up leadership matters, Hope brushes aside his concerns. He tries to clarify that he recognizes the crucial roles they’ve played in the company’s growth and values her greatly. He doesn’t want to upset her but has a gut feeling about the acquisition. Later on, Carter discloses some surprising information: Eric and Ridge had requested Limited Liability Company (LLC) documents, and he struck a deal with them. However, instead of handing over the LLC papers, he shredded them and handed over the rights to the actual owners. Disappointed, Hope accuses him of being influenced by the Forresters and allowing Daphne’s input in his decisions.

When queried about the status of Hope For the Future under present management, Carter discloses that he has advocated for it and safeguarded its existence. Yet, he refrains from commenting when questioned if there is a written record of his actions.
