In an astonishing disclosure, it’s been reported that two deceased individuals were unearthed from the luggage compartment within a JetBlue aircraft in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This startling find has rippled across the nation, sparking worries about the frequency of such occurrences. However, the details surrounding the specific JetBlue plane involved in this incident are yet to be fully clarified.
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the deceased persons retrieved from the said flight.
2 bodies found in JetBlue landing gear
On Monday, January 6th, two individuals were discovered deceased inside the landing gear compartment of JetBlue Flight 1801. The discovery was made during a routine post-flight inspection following the plane’s journey from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida.
At present, it’s unclear who the victims are, but a spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that they were both males. The paramedics were summoned immediately upon discovery of the bodies in the JetBlue plane’s landing gear area. Regrettably, these two men were already deceased when they arrived at the scene.
Currently, an investigation is being conducted to discover the identities of the bodies found, as reported by Fox5 New York. As of now, we don’t know how the individuals ended up in JetBlue’s landing gear nor how long they had been there.
After the unfortunate event, JetBlue has issued an official apology, expressing deep sorrow over what happened. “This is a tragic incident, and we are fully dedicated to collaborating with the relevant authorities in their investigation into how it transpired,” a representative from JetBlue commented.
It’s been common for people to utilize landing gear for travel, avoiding detection from one location to another. These compartments often open and close, either hiding or revealing wheels during takeoff and landing. Unfortunately, being in such a precarious position can lead to tragic accidents, as has frequently happened. Most recently, on December 25, 2024, a body was found in the wheel well of a United Airlines flight, according to CNN’s report.
